New York State Senator Brian Kavanagh

During my first year in the Senate (2019), I was communications director for New York State Senator Brian Kavanagh in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. I worked with the Senator on messaging around the historic 2019 Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act, the Climate Leadership and Community Protect Act, and gun violence prevention laws. I led the Senator’s social media, coordinated his media interviews and press conferences, and drafted his district-wide print and digital newsletter. I also worked with the Senator to coordinate a national press conference with legislators from across the U.S. after the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings to call for stronger gun violence prevention measures.
